The Mancelona Torch took Laredo pitcher Daryl Benstead's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Torch Field. The final score had Mancelona getting past the Hawks, 5-3. Benstead went 5.1 innings and allowed 5 earned runs, striking out 6. Danny Byrd got credit for the win, improving to 2-2. He allowed 3 runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. Darrell Bannatyne converted his 17th save in 22 tries.

The two teams provided some entertaining baseball for the Torch Field crowd. Regardless of the outcome, a good time was had by all.
