Delaware left-hander Emilio Linger pitched his team to a shutout win, 1-0, over the Tennessee Smokies. Khadija Oumar picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-1. Juan Franco was tagged with the loss. The 1787 BC saw their record improve to 58-35.
Walt Reed had the critical at-bat for Delaware. With one out in the bottom of the 13th inning, he hit a sacrifice fly. It gave Delaware the 1-0 walk-off win.
"There's no quit in this team," said 1787 BC manager Gary Thomas.
