The Alameda Airmen and Syracuse Storm played an exciting game at Storm Park.

The exploits of second baseman Jorge Esparza, who is tied for 9th in the SA in doubles with 21, helped the Alameda Airmen defeat the Syracuse Storm, 4-2. Esparza was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times. Alameda reliever Vas Atepko picked up the win to move to 5-5. Hank Lynn suffered the loss.

Alameda used the bat of Clarence Price to get the win. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Airmen ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Syracuse skipper Theodore Johnston, "and it cost us."

The Airmen now have a mark of 45-46.
