The Kent Comets got a stellar performance from pitcher Michael Ramsey, who handcuffed the Niagara Falls offense en route to a 4-2 win at Waterfall Park. Ramsey, the winner, moves to 6-7. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk. The Comets bumped their record to 50-39 with this latest triumph.
The outcome might have been different for Kent, had it not been for Ju-ho Ko, the 22-year old left fielder . Ko stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Kent up, 2-1. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"I like what I saw today," said Kent manager Noel Ballard, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
