Young Now 9-5 After Subduing Expos
|
Niagara Falls had no answer for Syracuse Storm starter Steve Young, who flummoxed Expos hitters as the Storm cruised to a 6-1 victory. The 4th-place Storm have won 6 in a row.
Young, who has sometimes raised the ire of coaches and teammates with his famously lackadaisical work ethic, turned in a spirited effort. The hurler struck out 12 in 7 innings and gave up 1 earned run.
Young, who is tied for 2nd in the SA with a 2.13 ERA, moves to 9-5 on the year with 148 strikeouts.
"It's a mindset," said Young. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
