Comets Fall Short, 1-0, at Grim
|
The Kent Comets got a sterling performance from pitcher Lance Mascola, but the Reapers still prevailed, 1-0. Mascola was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball. Gabriel Leeds was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 12 of 13 save opportunities. Grim is 8th in the Silver A with a record of 36-41.
One important at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the sixth inning. Facing Kent hurler Lance Mascola, John Crosby drew a walk. The Reapers went on to win.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Noel Ballard.
