Smokies Need Extra Frames to Get Past Comets
|
Tennessee first baseman Júlio Coronado was instrumental in his team's 6-5 win over the Kent Comets. Coronado, who is tied for 5th in the SA in triples with 3, went 2-5 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Smokies. Tennessee occupies 9th place in the Silver A at 20-43.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the 13th inning. With one out, Joselito Amengual hit a first pitch fastball from José Peña for a run-scoring single. It put Tennessee in front, 6-5.
"We didn't go down without a fight," said Kent manager Noel Ballard.
