Expos Best 1787 BC in Pitching Duel
|
Left-hander Jesús Fregaso mesmerized the Delaware 1787 BC while leading the Niagara Falls Expos to a 2-0 victory. In 6 innings, Fregaso surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Tim Smith nailed down his 3rd save.
Niagara Falls used a timely hit from Raúl Bravo to get the win. The second baseman delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Expos on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Fregaso told the Niagara Falls Bulletin.
Even with the win, the Expos have a dismal 18-45 record.
