Despite a great performance by Thunder Bay right fielder Gilberto Ocasio, the San Mateo Dirty Reds defeated the Northern Lions BC by the score of 6-5 at Great Northern Field. Ocasio was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. CB Huntington got the win, improving to 1-0. He worked 6 innings, giving up 4 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. The Dirty Reds keep rolling, raising their record to 5-1.

In the top of the 6th, shortstop Richard Edwards gave San Mateo the lead when he hit a 2-run home run. The Dirty Reds had been trailing 4-3, but the two-out home run off Thunder Bay pitcher Mike Hess changed that -- and San Mateo went on to win.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Edwards told the San Mateo Times.
