Sifuentes Helps Hawks Run Win Streak to 3
|
The Laredo Hawks beat the Walla Walla Walleye, 7-0, at Hawks Field. The Hawks got a fine performance from left fielder Esteban Sifuentes, who captured player of the game honors. He slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. Laredo starter Sylvain Richard was credited with the win after throwing 95 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 5-1. Jack Elvidge finished to wrap up his 1st save.
Sifuentes put Laredo up, 7-0, when he hit a 3-run home run off Dave Lewis in the bottom of the fourth. His 9th home run of the season helped the Hawks capture the win.
"We looked pretty good up and down," said Laredo manager Leonardo Sánchez.
The 7th-place Walleye have lost 4 straight games.
