Extra-Inning Win by Expos over Comets
|
The Expos had to overcome a fine effort from Kent pitcher Javier Merlo to grab a narrow 5-3 win at Fuller Park. Merlo went 7 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Niagara Falls, at 12-38, sits in last place in the Silver A.
Niagara Falls used the timely hitting of Kien Thum to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run home run in the top of the 12th inning to put the Expos ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"I know we have our doubters," said Kent manager Noel Ballard. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
