The Tennessee Smokies scored a 2-1 win versus the Alameda Airmen at Smokies Stadium. Tennessee pitcher Marcos del Pozo nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Even with the win, the Smokies have a dismal 15-34 record.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Tennessee pinch hitter Martin Clayton, facing Walt McPike, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Smokies the 2-1 win.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Clayton said.
