Airmen Edge Reapers, 5-4
|
For the home crowd, it was a thrilling walk-off win.
The Alameda Airmen relied on the hitting of shortstop Chris Leppert to stop the Grim Reapers, 5-4. For the game, Leppert went 2 for 2 with a double and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs. Alameda is now 25-23, while Grim is 26-22.
Héctor Heredice found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the ninth. Facing Grim hurler Radislav Ciger, the 19-year-old third baseman hit a sacrifice fly. His 23rd RBI of the season put the Airmen on top, 5-4.
"Put a star next to this win," Leppert said.
