5 Hits for Reapers Leyva
|
There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day.
Carlos Leyva is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-5 against the Niagara Falls Expos at Waterfall Park today. The monster effort from the 20-year-old second baseman helped the Grim Reapers take the win, 11-5.
"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Expos manager Alan Manor. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today."
Carlos Leyva singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Enrique García in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, walked in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Presently Leyva is batting .259 and has collected 5 home runs, 23 RBIs, .312 OBP and scored 28 runs.
