Hawks Rally to Eke Out Win
The Laredo Hawks electrified Hawks Field with a thrilling, walk-off win.

The Laredo Hawks faced a tough opponent in Kent pitcher Javier Merlo, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Hawks Field by a final score of 4-3. Merlo went 8 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Laredo reliever António Arrojo picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-0. Lorenzo Encarnación was collared with the loss.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Laredo second baseman Jessie Gibbs, facing Jorge Pagán, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Hawks the 4-3 win.

"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager Leonardo Sánchez.

The first-place Hawks have won 4 consecutive games.
