Victory Pushes Reapers Record to 17-16
|
Delaware got a terrific performance from pitcher Austin Cunningham, but it wasn't enough to beat the Grim Reapers. Grim won the The Coffin contest, 1-0. Cunningham was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball. The save went to Carlos Taváres, his 1st this season. The 6th-place Reapers now have a win-loss record of 17-16.
Joe Holmes made an early impact for Grim when he stroked his 22nd hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which came with one out in the bottom of the second, put the Reapers on top, 1-0.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Grim manager Enrique Zumaya.
