Hawks Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
Laredo rode a decent outing from starter Jesús Ríos to victory over the Niagara Falls Expos at Waterfall Park. The final score was 6-3. The winning pitcher was Ríos, now 3-2. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 7. Jesús Ortíz closed the game out for Laredo, earning his 1st save.
Laredo used the clutch hitting of Juan Oleastro to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to give the Hawks the lead, 5-3. For the game, Oleastro had 2 singles and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Ríos said.
