1787 BC Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win
|
Fans who congregated at The Coffin were treated to extra-inning drama.
1787 BC designated hitter Juan Martínez put his stamp on his team's 5-3 win over the Grim Reapers. Martínez went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs for Delaware in the contest. Thomas Sangrey got credit for the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings.
Delaware used the timely hitting of Zhong-yan Zhang to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the tenth inning to put the 1787 BC on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Martínez.
Delaware has now won 4 straight.
