Hawks Turn Back Grim, 4-2
|
The Laredo Hawks topped the Grim Reapers by the score of 4-2, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Esteban Sifuentes. Sifuentes was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Hawks on the day. Javier Iturburua closed the game out for Laredo, earning his 8th save. The Hawks have an impressive 14-8 record.
Ji-hyun Yi had a big 2-run single for the Hawks in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Laredo trailing 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a forkball from Jack Walker and stroked the single to right. It was his 13th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hawks ahead, 2-1.
"It feels good to get this one," Sifuentes told the Laredo Herald.
