Airmen Win Another One
|
The Alameda Airmen powered past the Syracuse Storm, 11-3, at Storm Park. Chris Leppert was 4-4 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs, to lead the charge. Cory bin Nasir al Din, the winner, improved to 2-0. He held the Storm to 1 earned run on 6 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 1. Alameda has now won 8 straight, while the Storm have lost 3 in a row.
The Airmen grabbed the lead in the top of the seventh. With no one out, Brandon Wilson, who is tied for 3rd in the SA with a .373 batting average, hit a grand slam home run off Nate Flores, putting Alameda in front, 8-1. For Wilson, it was his 3rd home run of the season.
"I like to keep things lively in the clubhouse," said Wilson. "Believe me, it's much easier after a win."
