Airmen Hope Win Turns Around Slow Start
|
Alameda rode a good effort from starter Steven Evans to beat the Kent Comets at Fuller Park. The final score was 6-0. Alameda is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 5th in 13 games.
Alameda used the timely hitting of Héctor Heredice to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Airmen on top, 4-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
In postgame comments to the Alameda Daily News, Evans said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
