Expos Hope Win Turns Around Slow Start
|
The Niagara Falls Expos topped the Mancelona Torch, 6-3, in USSL Single A action at Waterfall Park. The player of the game was Niagara Falls pitcher and Peralta, New Mexico native Joe Franklin. Franklin picked up the win for Niagara Falls, going 5.1 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Mike Dean, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
Fabrice Boyer had a big 2-run single for the Expos in the bottom of the first inning. With Niagara Falls leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from Tony Wood and stroked the single to right-center. It was his 6th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Expos ahead, 3-0.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Boyer. "And not try to do too much."
The Expos have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 2nd win in 7 games.
