Comets Roll to 8-1 Win Over Reapers
|
The Kent Comets downed the Grim Reapers, 8-1, at The Coffin. The Comets were led by Matthew Hunt, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 3 runs. Javier Merlo closed the door for Kent, picking up his 1st save of the year. The Comets raised their record to 4-3.
The outcome might have been different for Kent, had it not been for Cristo Correa Jr., the 22-year old right fielder . Correa Jr. stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put Kent up, 1-0. For the game, he was 4 for 5, including 1 double and 3 singles.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said Hunt.
