Evergreens Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Shredders
Evergreen Park was the site of a competitive game between the Hollywood Shredders and Portland Evergreens.

The Portland Evergreens faced a tough opponent in Hollywood pitcher Jesús Vidro, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Evergreen Park by a final score of 4-2. Vidro went 7 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Portland reliever Raúl Romero picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Lloyd Natoff absorbed the loss. Ron Rouse got the save, the 1st for him this season.

Portland took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With no one out, left fielder Willie McGirt hit a solo home run that set the crowd abuzz.

"I like our moxie," said Evergreens manager Brandon Slouck.

With the win, Portland pushes its record to 6-5.
