Fuller Park was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.
The Niagara Falls Expos wiggled past the Kent Comets, 2-1, at Fuller Park. Niagara Falls pitcher Joe Franklin earned player of the game honors. Niagara Falls, now 1-2, is off to a slow start.
Niagara Falls used the timely hitting of Kien Thum to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Expos on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Alan Manor, the Niagara Falls skipper.
