Blue Dragons Prevail, 3-2, Over Athletic Club KC
The Levittown Blue Dragons did just enough to secure a 3-2 victory over the Athletic Club KC U-24 at ACKC Youth Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Bernard Hewer, who captured player of the game honors. Hewer, the winner, moves to 8-7. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 2 walks. The save went to Ron Meredith, his 16th this season.

Levittown used the bat of Juan Amengual to get the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Blue Dragons ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"I know we have our doubters," said Athletic Club KC manager Lou Boone. "But I still have high hopes for this team."

The last-place Blue Dragons lifted their record to 35-53.
