Caterpillars Go Down to Defeat, 7-3
|
Levittown Blue Dragons starter Bernard Hewer pitched a strong game against the Grand Forks Caterpillars at The Cocoon, leading the Blue Dragons to a 7-3 win. Hewer, the winner, moves to 7-6. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 3 walks. Levittown, at 34-46, sits in 9th place in the Menard's A.
It could have been a different outcome for Levittown, had it not been for Joshua Sanford, the 23-year old right fielder . Sanford contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the sixth inning to put Levittown up, 5-2.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Hewer said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
