Tight Tilt Goes to Blue Dragons, 3-2

Earnest Powell pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Yucca Valley Yellows, despite Powell's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Levittown Blue Dragons at The Cave at Levittown. Edward Martin picked up the win, improving his season record to 7-3. He struck out 5 in 5 innings. Picking up the save was Ron Meredith, his 15th.
In the bottom of the fifth, Levittown shortstop Abednego Ashpenaz had a productive at-bat. With the bases empty and one out, Ashpenaz stroked a solo home run to left. It made the score 3-2, Levittown. For the game, he was 1 for 3 with a home run.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Yucca Valley manager Christian O'Dell, "let me know."
Their 32-45 record puts the Blue Dragons 10th in the Menard's A.
