Yellows Win at Grand Forks, 7-1
|
Yucca Valley Yellows starter Ralph Dunn kept the Grand Forks Caterpillars hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 7-1 win. Yucca Valley is now 29-39, while Grand Forks is 31-37.
The Caterpillars had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Yellows going into the top of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old center fielder Aaron Tuttle came to the plate. Tuttle hit a run-scoring single on a 2-2 fastball from Grand Forks hurler Carlos Menéndez. It was Tuttle's 72nd hit of the year.
"I'm proud to be a part of what we've got going on here," Tuttle told the Yucca Valley Daily News. "It's a great group and we're happy with the win."
