Chukars Nip Jets, 4-3
|
Idaho Falls beat Kennesaw at Jets Stadium, eking out a 4-3 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Camillo Vialli, who earned player of the game honors. Vialli got the win, improving to 7-4. He allowed 6 hits and walked 3 over 6 innings. Vialli allowed 3 earned runs. Idaho Falls is now 36-31, while Kennesaw is 36-31.
Idaho Falls used the timely hitting of Jerry Simmons to capture the win. The second baseman socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Chukars ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"We take it day by day here," said Simmons, "and today was a good one for us."
