White Walkers Edge Past Patriots, 4-3
|
Tom Smythe left his imprint on the 4-3 Buffalo win against the Boston Patriots. Smythe was 2-2 with a triple and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs. Buffalo reliever Damien Hayward was credited with the win, to go to 4-1. Aldo Ottens took the loss for Boston. Kenji Aoki earned his 23rd save in 27 chances.
Buffalo used the clutch hitting of Jorge Herrera to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to give the White Walkers the lead, 4-3. For the game, Herrera had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Herrera.
The White Walkers, at 63-39, lead by one game in their division.
