Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Las Vegas Flamingos home opener. Nam-shik Kwak started for the home team against Ton Jobse for the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids. The Flamingos were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 10-5, Northern Virginia. Conor Gotaas was named player of the game. The winner was Ton Jobse, who threw 86 pitches over 6 innings. The right-hander was charged with 5 runs on 7 hits.

Gotaas came through with some timely hitting for Northern Virginia. With the score 1-0 in the top of the second and one down, Gotaas hit a 1-1 cutter for a bases-clearing triple. His 2nd triple of the season made it 4-0, Northern Virginia.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Gotaas.
