Generals Solve Chukars, 5-2
|
Mario Rangel was instrumental in his team's 5-2 triumph over the Idaho Falls Chukars. The third baseman was 3-5 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs for the Washington Generals. Washington, at 19-20, sits in 7th place in the Menard's A.
Washington right fielder Iván Coello contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a curveball into right-center field for a run-scoring triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Generals ahead, 2-0.
"We take it day by day here," said Coello, "and today was a good one for us."
