The Chesapeake Continentals got a strong performance from pitcher Cakaraka Subramanya, who stymied the Mercer Island offense en route to a 5-1 win at Chesapeake Grounds. The winning pitcher was Subramanya, now 1-1. He tossed 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. Jeff Dunn recorded the save for Chesapeake, his 2nd of the season.
The Continentals picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.
"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Subramanya told the Chesapeake Citizen. "But we take nothing for granted."
The Continentals bumped their record to 26-23 with this latest triumph.
