Evergreens Stun Flamingos, 8-7
|
Despite a great performance by Las Vegas right fielder Owen Sharts, the Portland Evergreens defeated the Flamingos by the score of 8-7 at Evergreen Park. Sharts hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The winner was Portland reliever Brewster Warble, now 2-1. The loser was Morris Prinkey. The Evergreens now have a record of 48-51 with the win over Las Vegas.
David Milliken swatted a bases-clearing double for Portland in the bottom of the ninth. The left fielder went 2 for 5 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 4.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Portland manager Brandon Slouck.
