Chicago's McCusker Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits
Speaking with reporters after a dominating hitting performance, Jack McCusker said his club's tilt with the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids "felt almost like batting practice." The 21-year-old center fielder went a remarkable 5-for-5 at the plate.

"I saw the ball well and could just about hit it anywhere I wanted," he recalled later.

However, his sensational day wasn't enough for the Chicago Silver Sox, who were topped by the Rainbow Mermaids, 6-5.

"It's a good lesson for him, I guess," Silver Sox manager Brett Reichert said. "Sometimes Jack is going to lose. But I would rather him go 5-for-5 and lose than go 0-for-5 and lose."

Jack McCusker doubled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.

So far this year McCusker has hit .293 with 1 home run, 4 RBIs and 4 runs scored.
