Shooters Turn Back Thunder Hawks, 4-2
|
Springfield Shooters starter Zhi-qiang Ku turned in a top-notch performance against the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks at Springfield Stadium. The result was a win for the Shooters, 4-2. Springfield reliever Rob Durnford picked up the win to move to 2-2. Salvador Graciani suffered the loss. The Shooters now own a record of 15-20.
Had Oscar Finley not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Finley hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Shooters.
"We had a good game plan," Ku said, "and we were able to execute it."
