Behind a solid performance from designated hitter Mike Branch, the Ithaca Fighting Imps defeated the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats, 4-3. Branch went 3-3 with 3 singles and 2 walks for the Fighting Imps. The 7th-place Fighting Imps now have a 4-game winning streak.
The clutch at-bat in the bottom of the ninth belonged to Branch. Facing Sean Jones with the bases loaded, the Ithaca designated hitter had a run-scoring walk. Game over, walk-off style!
Lake Minnetonka manager Burton Storey said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
