Patriots Lose to Voodoo, 5-1
|
The New Orleans Voodoo racked up a win at Dunkin Donuts Park, bumping off the Boston Patriots, 5-1. Sjoerd Reynoud, who started for New Orleans, pitched effectively for his team. In 7.2 innings, Reynoud surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. New Orleans is now 56-41.
New Orleans relied on the hitting of Jorge Alejándrez to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Voodoo on top, 2-1. For the game, Alejándrez had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said New Orleans manager Chase Sims. "It's usually not just one thing."
