Ogres Clip Shooters in Tight Contest
|
The Ogres had to overcome a good performance from Springfield pitcher Zhi-qiang Ku to claim a 6-3 win at Springfield Stadium. Ku went 6.2 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Olympia's record now stands at 9-15, placing them 8th in the Premier AA.
Olympia used the timely hitting of John Yossarian to capture the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Ogres on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"We did a lot of things right," said Yossarian.
