Multi-HR Day for Branch as Fighting Imps Overpower Screaming Eagles, 6-0
|
Ithaca designated hitter Mike Branch was a significant contributor in his team's 6-0 triumph over the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles. He hit 2 home runs for Ithaca. Luis Matos picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-3. He struck out 4 in 8.2 innings. Even with the win, the Fighting Imps have a dismal 6-15 record.
Branch had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a full count sinker from Mark Robinson, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Fighting Imps a 1-0 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Branch.
