Sixshooters Topple Krewe with Late Rally
|
The Westwood Sixshooters defeated the Crescent City Krewe, 3-2, at Sixshooters Stadium. Westwood designated hitter Juan Carlos Vázquez was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 3 for 3 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The Sixshooters raised their record to 15-5.
Vázquez had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a first pitch fastball from Marcus Morgan, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Sixshooters a 3-2 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Vázquez.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Westwood manager Chua-kah Liu.
