Victory Over Chiefs Takes Kennesaw to 15-7
|
Kennesaw right-hander Bruce Mitchell pitched his team to victory over the Caldwell Chiefs at Pipers Ballpark. The final score was 6-1. Mitchell, now 1-1, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. Kennesaw is now riding a 3-game win streak.
It could have been a different outcome for Kennesaw, had it not been for Walt Davis, the 23-year old catcher . Davis contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put Kennesaw up, 4-0.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Davis told the Kennesaw Chronicle.
