Chukars Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
The Idaho Falls Chukars trumped the Levittown Blue Dragons, 6-5, at Idaho Falls Park. Idaho Falls designated hitter Stan Jackson was named player of the game for his performance. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. The save was credited to Artie Bates, his 8th. The Chukars improve their record to 14-7 with the win over Levittown.
With runs few and far between, the Chukars had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Idaho Falls came in the bottom of the third inning, when first baseman Jon Walker delivered a 2-run double. The double was hit off Edward Martin and made the score 3-1, Chukars. Walker was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Walker told the Idaho Falls Daily News.
