Screaming Eagles Turn Back Westwood, 5-3
|
Mercer Island rode a decent outing from starter Adrik Mihalushkin to victory over the Westwood Sixshooters at Sixshooters Stadium. The final score was 5-3. The winning pitcher was Mihalushkin, now 2-1. He tossed 5.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 4. The defending champion Screaming Eagles have struggled a bit to find their groove this season, but improve to 7-7 with the win.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and no one out in the top of the fourth inning. That's when shortstop Maxence Sultanbekov, who is tied for 2nd in the PAA in stolen bases with 7, drew a walk. The Screaming Eagles went on to win.
"This was a good win," said Mihalushkin.
