Fighting Imps Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
The Ithaca Fighting Imps beat the Westwood Sixshooters, 5-2, at Imps Park. The win was largely due to the efforts of third baseman Brant Fields, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 runs. Losses have been few and far between for the Sixshooters so far this season. Their record drops to 4-2.

Ithaca catcher Jonathan Elmore contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a sinker into left-center field for a 2-run double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Fighting Imps ahead, 4-1.

In comments to the Ithaca Today, Elmore insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
