Virginia Beach got a first-rate effort from pitcher Justin Frederick, who frustrated Durham hitters en route to a 2-0 Whales triumph at Virginia Beach Grounds. Kenny Hunt got the save, his 21st in 27 chances. Virginia Beach is now 46-54. Durham is 52-48.
