Whales Need Extra Frames to Get Past Blimps

The Virginia Beach Whales downed the Akron Blimps, 7-6, in 10 innings. Dave Thomas led the way, going 2-for-4 for Virginia Beach. Virginia Beach is 7th in the Silver AA with a record of 45-47.
Virginia Beach used the timely hitting of António Delgado to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Whales on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Bernie Drake.
