Blimps Come Up Short at Irving
|
The Irving Blue Sox topped the Akron Blimps by the score of 6-5, with the biggest share of the credit going to designated hitter Kent Maxwell. Maxwell was 3-4 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 times for the Blue Sox on the day. Irving is now 35-55, Akron 56-34.
Jorge Mateu had a clutch at-bat with one out in the bottom of the seventh for the Blue Sox. Coming up with the bases loaded and Irving trailing 5-4, he hit a 2-run single.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Maxwell.
