The Atlantic City Sonics stopped the Minnesota Loons, 5-4, at Sonics Ballpark. The Sonics got a big game from Denis Perrin, who went 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Atlantic City reliever Einar Engberg was the winner. His record is now 4-5. The losing pitcher was Billy Limby. Fernando Mora earned save number 7.

Perrin had a game-changing single in the bottom of the seventh. On a first pitch fastball from Jerry Williams, he banged a run-scoring single to center, giving the Sonics a 5-4 lead. It was the 88th hit of the year for Perrin.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Perrin said.
